HOW TO PROGRAM A SATELLITE

1. Go to a satellite that is near to the satellite to be programmed that has the same polarity. **You may use a satellite with the opposite polarity but programming will be a little more difficult.**

2. Select a channel that is active on the satellite to be programmed and on the satellite that you are starting from. Verify this throughout the procedure to prevent confusion.

3. Go into program mode: Move the switch located on the back of the receiver to the right for Program mode, it is on the top-right side. *Caution-There is another switch beside this button that controls the LNB selection. Be sure not to move this switch.

4. The screen will display Program Mode on the top of the screen.

5. Press SAT and a menu will be displayed. (See figure 1.) This menu will not stay on the screen very long, so it needs to be read quickly. Make a note of the Setup No., Sat Name, Position, Polarity, Skew, and Channel. This will help in programming the new satellite and in case any errors are made you will have the information to restore it.

POLARITY: NORMAL UP/DOWN to change them.

8. While watching the Position number, press STEP UP to begin scrolling through the Setup Numbers until you find one that does not have a number beside the Position, instead it will have blank squares like in the figure 1. *Note: The Setup Nos. that have a blank position will also have G1 in the Sat Name.* If you cannot find a blank Position for a Setup No., then find a Setup No. that has a satellite name that is not used or is an old satellite.

9. Make a note of the Setup No., because this is the one you will use to store the new satellite under. *Note: The menu will blank off the screen if nothing is pressed within a few seconds. If this happens you may have to scroll to the Setup No again.

11. You are now going to change the Band, Polarity, Skew, and Channel to the same settings as they were when you began. Verify that you are on the same channel as before. Press SAT until the arrow is pointing at Polarity, Skew, Band (if necessary), Channel (if necessary), then use STEP UP/DOWN arrows to change the setting until correct settings are displayed. (These are the settings you wrote down in step 5 for the satellite that you are starting on.) If it is necessary to change the Skew number, use the EAST/WEST to do this.

If you are starting on a satellite with the opposite polarity then make sure that the Polarity is reversed. When you reverse the Polarity the Skew should change also, if not then use STEP UP/DOWN and EAST/WEST to reverse the Skew.

12. If all the settings are correct then you are ready to store them. To store the information the menu must be on the screen when the store button is pressed. Locate STORE above the number 1 key. Press SAT and quickly verify that the Setup number is correct and the Sat Name is correct. If all is OK then press STORE while the writing is on the screen.
