Norsat JR 300AF

The JR 300 is a receiver only.  The below instructions assume you are using a JR 11 antenna positioner.  This receiver features parental lockout, audio/video outputs, C/Ku-Band compatible, built in TI filter, channel skip, up to 7 favorite programs and seven programmable timers.  We have a manual on this but it is very hard to understand.   The procedure may not be exactly correct.

HOW TO PROGRAM A SATELLITE

1. Check and see if the satellite to be programmed is already located by trying to go to it.

-If the receiver does not move to the satellite to be programmed, then go to a satellite that is close to the satellite to be programmed with the same polarity and then skip to Step 3.

-If the receiver does move to the satellite, then proceed to step 2.

2. After the dish moves to the satellite, check to see if there are any active channels on the satellite. If a channel comes in, then try to determine which satellite it may be. This will help you know if you need to move east or west when tuning to the appropriate satellite.

Note: If this is the satellite name you are going to use, then you have to move east or west from this position to program the new satellite.

3. Go to a channel that will be active on the satellite to be programmed. Tap EAST or WEST in the direction of the satellite to be programmed. If you do not know where you are starting from then begin tapping either EAST or WEST until you find some kind of picture or black screen, then begin from that point. If it is the correct picture then skip to Step 6, otherwise continue moving. Possible problem: When you are tuning you are picking up the satellites that have the opposite polarity.

4. Stop when you tune a picture in. Press the SKEW button then SAT to reverse the polarity. The picture should disappear.

5. Continue moving east or west until the correct satellite is found.

6. Make sure that the master programming lock is off.  To do this press LOCK, select Master, then select Off. Enter the 4-digit password, the factory-preset password is 0-0-0-0.

7. Press UPDATE, then press SAT.

8. If the Master Programming Lock was on to begin with then it needs to be turned back on. To do this press LOCK, then select Off. Enter the 4-digit password.

9. This should complete the process.
